The BLUEFund is the brainchild of Tracy G. Powell, CEO & Founder of BIG Web Inc. and Blue1647 Founder Emile Cambry Jr. The duo developed the idea of the BLUEFund after talking to many would-be business owners with great ideas, little capital and even smaller prospects of obtaining funding from outside sources. “In order to have sustainable economic impact it is imperative to connect entrepreneurs with the community and vice versa. Enter the BLUEFund,” says Powell. The soft launch of the BLUEFund portal successfully raised 157% of the financial goal set by Liberty Project.

The launch event will give three young entrepreneurs Cecil Wilson (19), Emmanuel Tawia (24) and Kris Powell (25) an opportunity to pitch their business and access funding through the crowdfunding portal.

Cecil Wilson is CEO of Goffers, www.goffersgotit.com, an on-demand delivery network with a mission to “build stronger communities, one connection at a time”. Goffers employs over 20 local youth to provide delivery services and small task management for people in their surrounding community.

Emmanuel Tawia, founder of Tawia Designs, www.tawiadesigns.com  is a Chicago based Ghanaian-American shoe brand that creates custom footwear hand crafted by local Artisans in Kenya, Ghana and Morocco while also creating and sustaining artisanal jobs. in Africa.

Kris Powell founded www.hitpartner.net, a tennis tech platform that connects pros and high level college players to junior level players who desire to hit with high level players. The platform creates both income opportunities for the hitting partner and provides greater access to tennis pros to more people. The three entrepreneurs will use the funds raised to help expand their business operations including new hires, product expansion and marketing.
